The Research Centre for Social Innovation

The professorship Social Policy and Social Work is embedded in the Research Centre for Social Innovation at Utrecht University of Applied Sciences / HU. This Research Centre includes eight professorships in social work and law. The professors and senior researchers (appr. 100) work together in six research programs. Senior researchers are always combining education positions with a research position. 

The Research Centre for Social Innovation is part of the Faculty of Law and Society, with about 3500 students in social work and 3000 in law. Regionally, the Research Centre is linked to a great number of social services, municipalities and research institutes. On the national level, the Centre is connected to several national institutes in care and welfare, interest groups and social partners. Internationally, the Centre takes part in Norm, an academic network on activating citizenship and is an active member in EASSW and FESET.
